How to update Parse SDK for Javascript

First of all, you have to install the latest version of the Parse SDK for Javascript. You can download it here depending on the environment you are developing to:

Download Parse SDK for Javascript – Development

Download Parse SDK for Javascript – Production (minified)

Then, you have to update your app to connect to https://parseapi.back4app.com instead of https://api.parse.com. You need to use the code below:

Parse.initialize("YOUR_APP_ID", "YOUR_JAVASCRIPT_KEY");
Parse.serverURL = 'https://parseapi.back4app.com'

It’s done! You only need to publish the new version of your Javascript app!

Once your users have updated the app to the new version, they will start requesting back{4}app’s API instead of parse.com one.

Not updated apps will continue connecting in parse.com API, but DON’T WORRY! It will nicely work until January 28, 2017. Because your database was successfully migrated to back{4}app, both parseapi.back4app.com and api.parse.com will read/update the data into the same database: your new migrated database in the back{4}app’s servers.
